Monday Rundown: Live from Michigan

By on August 13, 2012

[box_light] It’s Monday, and if you’re new to Quarterlife Man (welcome), you’re new to the Monday Rundown. The Monday Rundown is a compendium of  randomness compiled over the course of each week. Enjoy… [As always, if you've seen something crazy or have a suggestion, email us or tell us on Twitter (@QuarterlifeMan).] [/box_light] [divider]

––#RoadTrip12 Update:

2012 Quarterlife Ultimate Road Trip

What’s up, everybody. Today is Day 13 of the 2012 Quarterlife Ultimate Road Trip and we’re writing live from Michigan!

We’ve been through eleven states to this point and made stops in the following cities: Orlando, Florida; Gainesville, Florida; Tifton, Georgia; Atlanta, Georgia; Birmingham, Alabama; Tupelo, Mississippi; Memphis, Tennessee; Little Rock, Arkansas; Dallas, Texas; Austin, Texas; San Antonio, Texas; Nashville, Tennessee; Elizabethtown, Kentucky (don’t ask); Louisville, Kentucky; Indianapolis, Indiana; Chicago, Illinois; Grand Rapids, Michigan; East Lansing, Michigan; Detroit, Michigan.

Alex has flown home for an awesome concert that he’s running with For King & Country, so it’s just me in Michigan at the moment. Tomorrow afternoon, I will leave for Pittsburgh, followed by Washington DC and New York. Alex will rejoin in Boston and we’ll be on to conquer the East Coast states.

As always, stay tuned. We’ll have tons of updates on the website, in addition to our Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, and Instagram.

Sometimes, you see Olympic glory. Other times, you see this:

––The Romney/Ryan Ticket

I just want to go on the record by saying that I love the Paul Ryan pick for Vice Presidential nominee. As an email from Obama’s team wrote, “The Republican base is energized.”

I concur… and so does the rest of America, it seems. A Romney/Ryan event yesterday featured an overflow crowd of more than 15,000. Meanwhile, Joe Biden campaigned in North Carolina in front of a crowd of 660. Ryan then campaigned in North Carolina as well, drawing crowds of 10,000+ and 4,700 in High Point and Mooresville.

We’ve got ourselves a ballgame.

Did you love the McKayla Maroney memes? Check out the Mo Farah Running Away From Things Tumblr page. The above image is my personal favorite, but I also like the Temple Run image.

Enjoy!
